Question Emissions and Pettit ECU?

Its emissions time again and of course I failed. I am wondering if the Pettit ECU might be running richer than the stock ECU at 2500 RPMS? That is the only place I failed and it was high hydrocarbons. Replaced the plugs and oil 2 days before so they shouldn't be the cause and most of the other emissions related things have less than 3k on them.

Anyone know?

Thanks

I would guess it is the petitt ecu... we live in a state with a bad history of human caused environmental disaster and so they crack down on us now...emmsion and inspection every year while neighboring states have it every 2 or more years, and we have the worst roads in the country. I would swap it out for a stock ecu, that is what I used to do when I had an XS reprog ecu and it always got me by.
PS. if ya need a stock 93 ecu shoot me a pm...30 bucks shipped.

I recently passed smog with an M2 ecu. Actually, I passed easily. I'm not sure about the Pettit, but I think the M2 only richens the mixture under boost.

2 gallons of denatured alcohol at home depot for 20 bucks. Pour it in on 6 gallons of fuel, and you'll Fast Pass.

adam c: Was this the roller dyno test? If so, I'm curious to know, what are your mods other than the M2 ECU?
