emergency help needed
i put this post in the general tech section, but thought that it would help to put it in here as well.....here is what happened....
at the track last night, i was running my last pass, and somewhere just past the 1/8 mile mark it felt like my car ran into a wall so i shut it down and coasted back to the pit area. the car sputtered, barely idling over 300-400. it felt like **** and shakes like an electric bull. i drove the car home, and above say...1000rpm, the car gets better. crusing on the freeway the car boosts to 13-14 like it normally does, oil pressure is good, temp is ok and so on. i was wondering if anyone here could shed some light on the subject for me. i pray this has nothing to do with an apex seal or something to the like. i have the service manual, and am capable of fixing almost anything, so please guys shoot me some advice....

Sounds like you blew a seal.
I had the exact same problem earlier this summer. Once you got going the car makes power, but at idle or low rpm start it shakes and doesnt like it.
Blew an apex seal on the rear rotor.
Good excuse (necessity) to rebuild, port, 3m seals, new clutch, new radiator.
I hope it is something cheaper and easier for you to fix.
Mike
p.s. check all the simple things, spark plug wires, plugs. But I would get a compression check.

My car did the same thing...
My car would not idle and ran like a piece of crap below 1500rpms
and was fine above 2000rpms
I never could track down the problem, sadly I'm pulling the motor right now

Check the MAP sensor on the firewall close to the brake and clutch master cylinders...the hose likes to pop off of that thing and the symptoms sound kinda like what your car is doing.
But I'm sure you knew that already.
