I have a funny thing with my FD. Any time the car is locked, if I use the key to pop the hatch, without failure the alarm goes off. Once I unlock the door with the key it stops.

It can be a little embarrassing.

Any thoughts on where to start?

Pull the trim back in the rear to expose the hatch lock cylinder and look for a lose connector. It is two wires LG/R and B, if it is attached then follow it up to the X-19 connector. It could also be a bad ground behind the rear bumper.

Turning the alarm off with the door lock is normal.

Thanks for the reply Banzai. Sounds simple so hopefully this will do the trick.
