I am hoping someone here may be able to shed some light on my electric window issue.

My passenger electric window used to work intermittently. sometimes is was great from all switches some times nothing happened at all.

It recently stopped working arround the time i tried unsucessfully to take the door card off. (i have since looked up how to do this).

Any ideas on what i should do to fix it?

 

Yep it is going bad. Nothing new here. You can take it a part or get a new one from Ray the man. The switch, with age, shorts out. Easy fix here.

 

The Switch has Ball bearings in them, and they sometimes overheat and cause the plastic pieces in the vicinity to warp making contact sketchy, and then they just fail.

 

so you reckon one of my switches has failed? And that has caused neither switch to work?

so if I unplug the broken switch the other should work yes?

 

Definitely take some time to disassemble the door switch and clean the contacts. Mine just needed a little TLC.
