10 yrs and counting

Bought mine almost 10 years and 1 mnth or so ago. Got my White 95 from the dealer, in Coconut Creek FL, with 70 dealers miles on it. Had it dealiver to my house on Sept. 9th 1996. Still going and even more powerful to this day. Check out Attachment in Front of KDR's old Location a Month ago.

13 years here, and the FD has really grown on me. Back around '96 I was thinking about getting rid of my [then] girlfriend and the car as they were both problematic. Ultimately, I got rid of the girlfriend and kept the car... now looking back, the biggest problem with the FD was my former girlfriend.

I'm on my 2nd FD over the course of three years. It's still the only car that brings a smile to my face every time. At one point I had both a base and a Touring FD and my 96 V6 MX6. Now I just have the Touring FD and the MX6. Parking three cars in San Francisco was getting a lil ridiculous.

The RX7 is the funnest car I've even owned.

I love my car...

Last night I opened it up in the cold air, and for the first time in a few weeks she threw me back in my seat, the sequentials worked flawlessly, and she pulled hard and had plently of more to go before I ran out of room.

I love it when all that hard work pays off

Improved I thought your FD was fairly stock, I've never seen your sig before, nice.

The backfires and flames alone make this car worth owning

2 and a half years for me.

Theres been ups and downs, more downs this year. I guess its starting to show fatigue cause the first year and a half been great, no problems whatsoever. I mean i dont have any major problems now, its just the little **** that i get annoyed with and i give up and not want to fix it.

At least i drove it a good 20 miles 2 weeks ago, that felt good even though car was acting strange lol.

And even with all the people who make fun of the car, theres still alot more who actually cherish it so thats good.

ive had mine for around 3 and a half years, and i still love it i cant really get away from it, because i cant think of a car for less then 90k that i would rather have. lol. I think currently the only car i would give my car up for would be a Noble with its 425 horsepower and 2300 pounds of weight. Other than that, im keeping her.

I thinking he's referring to the pervasive low brow opinion of the rotary and RX-7s in general

unique is good...

Ah yes the FD rush, nothing else comes close, just took it out this evening and really cracked into it for the first time since the cold snap. I was out on the highway in 3rd and was passing someone and just couldn't bring myself to depress the pedal... So crisp, so smooth pulling up to 8.5k then I droped the throttle *bang* *bang*,*bang* *bang* *bang* as the revs came back down and I settled into traffic...

It's been 2 years and it never gets old... No matter the time or money put into it one drive makes it all feel worth it...

Then I think, and this is still with essentially stock boost.... more to come >=)

Of their reputation.

At meets, or online, i always get the, "so i saw an fd for sale by walmart, he only wants 8 grand, i bet the motor is bad LOL".

Or

"man you should go single already, your car will be a beast, too bad at any moment the car will blow up".

Its never ending do i get those comments from my car friends. They like the car, the way it looks but they always have something bad to say about it.

8 Yrs and counting here too

I got rid of the first one and shopped for a change. C5? TT? SLK? MR2? Supra? 308? NSX? Maybe. But, I would have sold out on myself. After defending the Rotary and FD for so many years to all my friends, folks and Supra drivers I found my way from a touring into an R1.

The best thing that happened for the car though, really was the daily driver. After I got the DD the gloves were off! Only then, could I rip into the suspension, body or engine and work without any time limit to get it just perfect.

On the list of my favorites is the forever pre-mix 2stroke smell :P

Definately know how you feel...
"why dont you just put a V8 in it the rotary is gonna blow up anyway"
"you have to replace the apex seals every 60k right?"
"so how many motors have you had" (under their breath *heh heh heh*)
*sigh*...
