ECU with smog and wiring harness question

I have a 93 RX7 and im about to buy a 93 Cali wiring harness, I believe it has the EGR sensor. Now to my understanding a 93 ECU looks for the sensor but a 94-95 doesnt? So if I got a 94 ECU can I just not plug in the sensor and not get a CEL?

TIA

Break it down for you -

93 federal ECU - doesn't check EGR switch
93 Cali ECU - checks EGR switch
94 ECU - checks EGR switch
95 ECU - no EGR at all

All the harnesses have the blue plug for the EGR switch, the difference is the ECU and whether it checks for the EGR switch and movement.

So, to answer the question, get a '93 federal ECU and you'll be good.
