ecu removal

Allright guys, feel like a moron on this one, but I can't seem to get my ecu out. It is a Power FC and it just won't budge. Now before my fingertips start to bleed maybe someone can give me a pointer or two on what I may be doing wrong. My approach is to take my two middle fingers and pinch down on each side of the clip to release the "locks" on the clip itself. I then try and push forward to work the clip out. The ****** won't move.

TIA,

Ryan

The way ive done it ( all 9 times)

Unbolt the damn thing entirely.
Then use a flat blade screw driver and prty the clips out...

Works everytime..

if the ecu is stuck to the brackets- try a set of adjustable pliers, worked for me

Your off to a good start, along with pinching the tab you can take a wide common screw driver & carefully pry the connector off.
Rock the screw driver back & forth. Pry on one end then pry on the oposite end to "walk" the connector off evenly.
Don't just pry on the center of the connector with all your might.
Start with the bottom connector & work your way up.
Dude, you still haven't sent your PFC to XS?
I made you a commander mount for your dash

Hey Emery, no I haven't done it yet. I did buy a Jeep in the meantime, though so whenever you want to meet up I can get your ecu back to you. We can either do it soon or when I get the ecu back and go for a drive. Allright gonna go back to the ecu.

Hey, Ryan-- for me the PITA is wedging myself far enough into the footwell so that I can see what I'm doing. If I gain any weight, I'm going to pull out the seat first

I also unbolt the box, then use a stubby, wide, flat blade screwdriver to get the plugs worked out. Gotta resist the urge to pull on the wires too...
