ECU question

I will be purchasing a new IC, downpipe, intake and catback system in the coming months. I am planning on buying an upgraded M2 ecu first so I can then purchase and install new components at will and not wait until the last minute to upgrade the ecu. If I get it now, and install it along with a downpipe at the same time, will that cause it to run to rich until I have upgraded the intake and cat back as well?

Yep, but maybe not too badly. They probably also retard the timing a little bit as well.
