this gasket is not for the twins or any turbo part.

do u know the surge tank? it is also called the upper mainfold. its the top piece of the engine that looks like a glove sitting on top.

the lower manifold is under it and goes into the side of then engine where the turbos are. that is what these gaskets are for.

correct, they go between motor and lower intake manifold and between the lower intake manifold and the upper intake manifold.

I meant will the twins still fit with this particular LIM gasket? it is thicker or at least looks that way. would that not move the lim away from the engine toward the turbos? granted it would move it out just a little bit, but the twins are a tight fit with a normal metal gasket.

there are a few threads on making these gaskets thicker. i wouldnt do it really unless u have custom fuel set up.

the OEM ones are 10-20 each i think, so thats cheaper anyway.

they don't hold up very well i would recomend not using them i had a set on my turbo 6 port setup and they were all deformed when i took off the manifolds, they were stretched out like they were about to blow out, i will take pics of them tomorow and show you all what they look like after about 2k miles on them. I don't not use them anymore,

I wouldn't suggest replacing multilayer steel gaskets with "space age material". Call up Malloy and get the proper pieces, Ray's price on the LIM beat the Mazda Motorsports racer discount price.

lim $15.44 (Ray's price)

I got the one for the UIM for $5.90 with the racer discount from Mazda, Ray should be close though. Add $5 for shipping but it reaches even us here on the East coast within 3 days.

Also use a moly grease on the gaskets or #2 Permatex and tighten from the middle bolt and work your way outward in multiple steps.

BTW: The "space age" was a long time ago, so that would make these materials outdated. Records, AM radio, and B&W TV's are "space age".
