Wow, alot of talk about a "simple" torque brace. I have one of these on my car. Seems to work fine. I thought there was a noticeable difference in how the car feels after installation. Whether or not that "feel" is in my head or it really does make a difference in performance I can't say. I'm still a fairly new owner. Plus the seller is a personal friend of mine, so I may be a bit biased. He's a good guy and wouldn't intentionally sell "junk".

I was going to buy one.

If stock, it doesnt come with anything, i think any aid will be effective. Sure its not the best construction but i doubt the people who are buying it will push the car to its limits to where that "40 dollar" brace will be useless. Well at least most of us.

If it can do the job to where we can notice it while daily driving, that 40 bucks was well spent. Not saying this is better or equal to the braces they sell at rotaryextreme etc but if it does the same job where you can notice it, then why spend extra?

and off topic. Audiobot, why dont you paint your 99 front red? Just wondering if you're waiting on something or are you gonna leave it like that. Looks like you're rocking the black primer color look. . Still looks good though.

I think anyone posting here about buying an EBAY torque brace hasn't actually bought the exact one posted in the opening post....guess what guys? There's more than one maker of these out there. The one linked to in this thread is ****.

I have bought the one posted in the original link. The only difference is that mine doesn't have the powder coated ends. I respect your opinion, but I think for the money I paid, I got a pretty good product. It can be difficult to assess the quality of a product just from a couple of pictures, but I have one and I'm quite content with it so far.

Dont worry, paint job is already paid for, I just need to drop it off, but Im lazy and the car is so much fun to drive. Still debating 99 OEM or back to sexy style or something else. Im lean towards back to sexy style since its so rare and there's no replicas going around.

Back to the topic, the torque brace still looks like crap.

I guess I don't have the same taste as others. I think it looks fine and I'm probably taking it too personal just because my friend made it. Maybe I should just post a decent pic of it on my car.

THIS IS FOR YOU LADIES WHO are referring to the brace posted at the beginning of this thread ?? You have no input other than what you see . Trust me . My shop is used to help fab these parts . I just noticed the $$ he is selling these for and the $$ has come down due to it being easier to make after making so many . You guys go ahead and buy a ban saw and metal cutting blades / buy the materal and allum plate / buy a bead blasting cabinent / oh dont forget the powder coating / and last but not least YOUR DAMN TIME . For $ 40 .00 I would not get out of bed , but you have the ***** to judge someone's work with out ever seeing it in person . GO ahead and spend $ 230.00 on a Dampering kit. But if you want a Engine Torque kit , dont pass this up . you cant buy the material and do the work for this $$ . Dont let these ladies influence your decission.

Any comments ??? please pm me directly

woah, settle down. no one insulted you, so why throw out childish remarks...

and a good deal of what you said doesn't even make logical sense.

sure, the quality of construction can not be accurately determined with internet auction photos, but the general design can be. a solid brace just isn't the way to go on a soft mounted component because it doesn't match the other mounting points.

it would also change the direction of force on the motor mounts. don't know if that's a major concern but it may be in the long run.

this is the technical section, not a place to whine, name-call, and bicker. i understand you're trying to sell something... so why don't you post up some proof instead of alienating people? i may very well have bought it and converted it to a damper if you hadn't been such a jerk.

"you cant buy the material and do the work for this $$"

yeah, i can.

Come on man, no need to come in here all internet thugged up, yo. There are many more effective ways of communicating.

Plus, who the hell are you calling a lady? Ever been in a firefight in the streets of Baghdad? I didn't think so.
