ebay Brembo rotors: Dependable?.. Fitment?

Anyone have any experience, good or bad, with the Brembo rotors's sold on ebay (currrently $199.00 for all four). I know they're cross drilled and slotted by the shop selling them, and not at the Brembo factory, but they are Brembo's nonetheless.

I'm thinking of giving my 7 a little christmas present, but only if I hear more positive input on the rotors, than negatives. Thanks.

I have them.... there's nothing special about them. I did notice a slight improvement, but that's probably just my imagination & switching to hawk pads at the same time.
If your current rotors need replacing, then might as well

*make sure they are coated so they don't rust!

There are many posts on this. For street driving or typical auto-x, those rotors will be fine, but won't offer any better performance than stock solid rotors (and will likely offer less due to loss of mass). For road racing, stock-size drilled rotors will NOT hold up and WILL crack.

I don't think they're coated. What would you recommend I coat them with?. My stock rotors must be coated cause the only place a little rust is present is on the "hat" portion of the rotors. I do plan to paint the Hats on the Brembos!

got the same thing for my FC.

Fitment was good.

I only had one instance that i ever had brake fade and that was a couple runs on a drift course (that told me i better quit )

They were alot cheaper than oem replacements and i thought they were well worth the money

here's a pic of mine

i bought then from a place in canada. they are the brembo rotors with the kvr carbon pads. i painted the hats a cast aluminum color to prevent rusting. a few months later, a friend bought some of the cadmium plated slotted and drilled rotors. i like them better for looks, but don't think there would be that big of a difference in street driving

drilled and slotted rotors help w/ cooling right? if they are stock size, you shouldnt notice any diffrence in breaking. if anything it would be less braking ability, b/c there is less surface area touching the pads. still looks sweet.

the drilling is also to help take the gases away from the pad/rotor surface to reduce brakefade so it's very worth it to get them. Everyone can say what they want about it may not perform as well and blah blah blah but truthfully they will reduce brakefade much much better than oem will ever wish to.

I ordered some late last week from the Ebay guy. However, I requested slotted only.

They are cadium coated and should hold up fine with my usual street driving with occasional track use.

There is so much MISINFORMATION in that thread, I would not even bother to read it. A lot of people spouting off about something they apparently know little about.

Drilling & Slotting were implemented to reduce fade from gases given off by hot brake pads. Nobody can really say whether it will help you are not unless they are using your exact setup and it has been thoroughly and statistically tested.
I have the slotted & drilled Brembo rotors on the front and am happy with them.

Bottom line is....As long as no accidents have occured as a result of catastrophic failure with these rotors, and as long as metalurgical AND braking charateristics do not fall below OEM standards, then "They Are A Bargain" and an addition that will enhance the look of the FD. SOLD!
