easy FC coil mount location - pics

I found a good location to easily mount the FC leading coil in a FD with limited space due to having cruise control (when upgrading to a FC leading coil which people say are supposed to be better and last longer). Go to the link below to see all 12 pictures. This location is nice for a few reasons, the stock plug wires are just long enough, so you don't need to buy different wires. The coil is removed from it's very hot stock location so it should not get as hot where it is now. If you somehow burn up this used FC coil or need to replace it, now that would be easy. You have to pull the UIM to access the FD coils in their stock location.

The pictures were taken tonight after I removed the power steering pump. I installed the FC coil a few days ago when the power steering was still there (A/C has been gone for a while).

I've seen coils mounted where they don't have the cruise control, but I didn't find any info about a good spot to mount the FC coil when you have cruise control like I do, so after looking around this seemed to be the best and easiest location to mount this FC coil. I had the bracket in my tool box (from the hardware store), it already had the two holes in perfect locations and it was perfect length, so all I had to do was stick the one end of the bracket in my vice on my work bench, twist the bracket with a crescent wrench until it was the perfect shape to mount the coil where it is. You just un bolt the 10 mm nut that is already there, install the bracket and bolt down that 10 mm nut. I also used a zip tie at the bottom of the coil for additional support, I think the coil is mounted as good as it needs to be.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments. Tom
