anyone burn out a metalcat??

I think the guts of my cat blew out the back of my exhaust today. It is a metalic cat , not a metalcat brand.

I need to replace it because without it the car stinks too dam much.

But any case, has anyone burned one out yet?

Are they available with an air tube?

Links if possible to retailers please..

Thanks....

I don't think you can. You can order them from Australia though.

Too bad you didn't post this a couple of days ago. I just sold a metal cat.

I had very good luck with the Random Tech universal 3" in/out metal cat. I had it welded into the straight mid pipe that I had at the time. Used it for a couple of years with somewhere between 6-8k miles.

I was not using an air tube in mine.

I'm now using an SMB combo cat + muffler mid pipe.

what I'm going to do is run it most of the time with the air pump turned off to keep the heat down, which is what I always do.

Maybe I'll just go with the random technologies.

Hey gracer, did you car actually pass smog with it in place?

I never tried. My port is probably too large to pass any sniffer test w/o help.

I was very happy with the performance of that cat though.
