Dyno'd my car today!
Well, rotary power northwest had a dyno day at Ecessive motorsports in Aloha today. Talk about a blast. Had a first gen, 2 second gens, and 3 3rd gens.
Seems like everyone had problems of some sorts. The first gen had fuel delivery problems. It made 150rwhp, before the fuel pump could'nt supply enough fuel for the IDA...but It was climbing realy nice. Probably would of made 180+rwhp, if the fuel system would have been good enough. The second gens had a couple problems too. One, had a handfull of detination, caused by being to lean. Fixed by the s-afc, but still only put down 150ish rwhp. The other 2nd gen had either fuel delivery problems, or ingition problems. At about 6k, it would just fall off, and stop making power.
One third gen put down 230ish hp, but had a slipping clutch. The other one put down 217ish, but had a boost problem making the boost pattern a 11-8-10-5. I think it was a clogged cat or something. But anyways put my car on the dyno, and it put down 266rwhp@11psi. Ralph did some minor tuning. (On my commander, as his datalog was loaned out. ) My best run was a 297rwhp run, but ralph decided to richen it up up top a bit. Came away putting down 295ishrwhp@12psi.
My car with the non-seq, would at first build about 14psi, then tapper down to about 12psi at redline. Ralph added some fuel down low, and came away near flat boost level. Very nice.
One thing that is planned for the future is a real cat back. With that, the car should be able to run 300rwhp pretty easily, I would think.
I have some low quality vids, but need someone to host them for me. Tomorow, I'll post a picture or two of my dyno charts too.
Later, CJ

Nice numbers - get rid of that stock catback and you'll gain another 12-15 rwhp. If you're concerned about noise just get a RB or a quiet exhaust. Avoid the N1 exhuasts as they are hi-flowing but are loud with a MP. Nothing like 300+ rwhp in a FD

I was thinking about the m2 dual tip. I don't know how it flows, but I like the looks of it. As for the N1 dual.....I had one, and drove it for less than 10miles before ripping it off. It was just way, way to loud, with a mid pipe.
Ralph said with the datalog, he could of squezzed 300rwhp no problem. He had the datalog (Sorry for the misinformation) but no cable or something like that.
I plan on getting the cat back, throwing a fuel system to it, 1600cc, 850cc, relocate the fuel filter, etc. etc, have the motor ported, then have him do some serious tuning on it.
Once again, if you need your car tuned, Ralph is the guy to have it done with. He loves working with these cars (And Supras ), and knows them inside and out. It was a total blast with him. Ralph is the man.

Also, my auto meter boost gauge is off over (Yes, over) 2psi off. More like 3psi. When i first dyno'd my car, it was reading 13psi, and i was running more like 10.5psi, according to Excessive's dyno. When the dyno said I was putting out 13psi, my guage read 16psi!
Ralph was saying that most the Auto meter boost gauges are like that. Perhaps a nice peak/hold boost gauge would be nice. CJ

He was getting the boost from where you normaly get the boost reading from on the uim.
I also need to move my air tempature sensor from the bottom of the uim, to right after the IC, install the Hi-6, find a tiny coolant leak that you could smell on the dyno, and find alot more money CJ
