Dyno results!

I just got done with another dyno run yesterday and I am pretty happy with the results. I have a 93' touring with the following upgrades: SS downpipe, flowmaster in place of cat, cat back straight pipe, K & N drop in filter, Profec B boost controller and a PFS PMS ecu upgrade. The dyno also had an o2 wideband which was a lifesaver. The car was running way too rich, we kept taking fuel out until the a/f ratio came up to about 11-12. The car became silky smooth. It runs awesome now! I pulled on the last run 264 rear horsepower which translates to about 318 horsepower. I'm thinking now I need an intake--any suggestions?
I would be interested to hear other dyno runs result with the same upgrades. I also got my torque up to 225 ft-lbs. Not bad for a rotary! I would recommend every RX-7 owner to dyno their car and tune it with the o2 wideband. I never would have guessed I had to take out as much fuel as I did--oh yea, I was running 13 psi of boost.

I forgot to mention that Jason at the RX-7 Store was a huge help in getting me not only a lot of the upgrades but also was great at giving me advice on how to install and proceed with my never ending quest for more power! Thanks Jason!

260 rwhp sounds pretty good for just a free exhaust and k&n filter. an estimated 318hp at the flywheel is a 60hp increase over stock.

How much boost are you running?

I think gsxr1000 is right. At 13 psi you should be making a bit more. I have all that you have along with a GReddy intercooler, stock main cat and an RB intake and make 300 at the wheels at 11 psi.

A few thoughts. You might have been over heating. If you were doing run after run with no fan you easily could have been. This makes a big difference. Do you have a temp gauge? If not you need one. Also PFS PMSs are tuned rich to start with so most of them need fuel taken out. Running rich will foul your plugs in a flash. Check/replace them because fouled plugs will hurt ya too. Anyway with your mods and that level of boost I'd expect maybe 280 at the wheels, give or take. So before you upgrade something like the intake you should make sure things are running correctly. Oh and one more thing. Non-rotary shops often don't know how to properly dyno an Rx-7 so if you took it someplace stupid that could be part of your problem as well.

You guys might be right. It was running way too rich, so I am sure I need to change the plugs now. As far as the temp goes, we had a huge fan on the car all the time, and I do have an autometer temp gauge that never showed above about 210 degrees. I was happy with the 264 rwhp until I heard from you guys. Are you all saying it should be more like 300 rwhp with my upgrades running at 13 psi boost? If so, what do you think I should be looking at?

You have that nice free-flowing exhaust, but that stock airbox is acting as a bottleneck. I would upgrade to an open intake, such as M2 (if you have the cash) or a used Pettit (which is what I did).

Also, running 13# on the stock IC is a big no-no. My intake temps dropped tremendously (like 20 degrees C) when I got rid of that pathetic little stock IC. Definitely upgrade it; if you search around you can find some good used ones. I lucked out and happened upon a basically perfect M2 large for $500 less than new :p

I will post my maps hopefully tonight--I need to get them off the keypad because I did not write them down. As far as the stock I/C goes--why is it a no-no to run 13 psi? I never heard there was a problem to do that. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Lotta boost+puny, inefficient IC=high intake temps, which are very bad for the little rotary motor...
