dyno question

I was just wondering if a dyno run in 3rd gear results in incorrect hp and/or tq numbers. When I dynoed my car a while back, all 3 runs were done in 3rd gear on a dynojet, and the guy at the shop said it didn't matter whether it was in 3rd or 4th. Just wondering if this is true. Thanks.

You will get more accurate numbers in 4th gear, as that has a 1:1 gear ratio. I know they can compensate for non 1:1 gearing but.....

Of course, running the test in 4th gear is harder on your car......
