Dying kangaroo noise from intake advise plz

I bought a near bone stock fd recently. Sorry if this is old news but I have never owned a "twin" turbo rx7 before.

God only knows why but it has a Apexi intake and muffler installed in it with no computer upgrade . Soon to be fixed PFC and new toys on the way . I cant wait for my noise problems to come from my waistgate again.

Meantime...

How do I stop that stupid sound? I have heard people complain about it before on here but had no idea how friggin irritating it was. It is horrible. I did a search and could not find answers only questions.

Something I can do with zipties and elbowgrease since it is temporary?

recomendations plz.

Ahhh you have been privledged enough to here the famous FD moo. Yeah there was a write up about using a cap and drilling 5 holes in it to allow it to breath through that. Search moo fix. The air pump jsut does it with a aftermarket intake.

goodluck,

First check under the hood for a kangaroo. If you don't find one, or any other large mammals, use the above fix

I googled for Kangaroo sounds and this is apparently what they sound like.
http://www.audiosparx.com/sa/asf/D/50491.asf

From the San Diego zoo website
"Kangaroos don’t make many sounds. They have been heard making grunting and coughing sounds, they sometimes hiss, and females may make clicking or clucking sounds to call their young."

btw, I have the Apexi intakes on my FD with the stock BOV vented and the "moo" isnt too bad. I don't think it's an embarassing sound or anything.

If these are your only two mods, and you still have the stock main cat, you will be just fine on the stock ECU, no need for an aftermarket ECU.

However, if you don't have a boost gauge, get one to monitor your boost levels to avoid over-boost fuel-cut. If the boost goes much above 11 psi before transition to both turbos at ~4500 RPM or 10 psi after transition, you could have fuel cut.

You may need a boost controller to keep the boost at these levels.

pwned...lol btw i had no clue what that sound was...makes perfect sense now lol, scared the **** outta me the first time i heard it.

AND...i remember when i first got my car, it had a malfunctioning greddy profec b spec-1...running the twins at 17lbs of boost at full boost...I have no clue how it lasted 3 months of that with only a thermosensor failing, and eventually the turbo's oil seals went bad, but i mean shouldnt my car have exploded or something on a stock motor?!
