dupli color high heat spray ???

I have an r85 etc. wondering if for the time being i can just spray it with the 1200 degree flat black spray on coat to prevent a little heat on the dp, manifold, exhaust side of the turbo. also will it prevent that stuff from getting rusted, i lifted the hood for the first time in a month and the turbo was covered in rust powder pretty much.

any ideas or knowledge about this stuff will help

I would not spray that on the turbo. You can most likely get away with it on the down pipe. I think the heat from the turbo would cook just about any paint, especially some **** that comes in a spray can.

The heat will cook it off the top end of the downpipe too.

I have my DP wrapped in that fiberglass heat resistant stuff then a few coats of the spray paint over that. I haven't looked at the DP since it got installed but it was embarassing as hell to drive my car around (to stop at a light at least) the first few days because it smoked a lot as the paint is setting from the heat.

^^What he said. I tried using the paint on heat shields near the turbos and it smoked until it burnt off. I double wrapped my downpipe.

The stink from the curing heat wrap lasts a lot longer than the stink from the burning paint. I wish I'd had mine ceramic coated instead.
