OK just curious...if you are way too rich and the plugs are more or less fouled (but driveable) will leaning out the mixture correct the plugs?

 

Possible if they are also cleaned very well.

 

Plugs can clean themselves ,but if you lean it out you may risk a broken apex seal . What does a motor rebuild cost ? What does a spark plug cost ?

 

I say buy some plugs. bur9eqp all around is the way I go.

 

all true, and i did just change the plugs-what a hassle. That's why I'm asking. I'm trying to get the car worked out. I don't want to change the plugs every 1K miles. No, I wouldn't lean the car out to a dangerous level just to clean the plugs. My WB is pegged at <=10.5 at WOT. I just wondered if I get it to 11 or 11.5 then if I should swap plugs again. I run all nines too, copper for now until I get things worked out.
