A few guys have said you need to lift the engine up to change the oil pan gasket. Is there anyway on a lift to just drop in down. If anyone has done this before your help would be great.

You can drop the front suspension. I had it done and it cost $200 with the new gasket

 

On a lift, the engine has to be supported with like a front wheel drive engine hanger. Th entire subframe gets dropped down (4 bolts 2 nuts) and it helps to unbolt the powersteering rack.

 

Dude, you can do it on ramps if you get an engine hoist without dropping the subframe. Not too hard, when you do it just make sure that you check you motor mounts.

how high must i "hoist" it? I have a lift at school i can use and and engine lift i could use but how much must i unhook to be able to hoist it out of there?

try it out, make sure that you have some help though and if you cant get the drivers side motor mount stud to slide into the hole have someone push on the motor from the top, on that side.
