Dropped NEW ENGINE in, now ignition seems way retarded?/?

Dropped new engine in, now ignition seems way retarded. I've got spark on all four plugs but I don't think they're firing in the right order. The engine (great compression) will act like it wants to start but doesn't . Checked the wires, cas etc etc etc. One thing though, does the leading coil need to be bolted down to work right (How does it get its ground)? The leading coil is just sitting in it's spot, not bolted down (I'm in the middle of doing something different with it).

Anyone have any ideas?

make sure your coil connectors are the right color for the right coil.

I don't think the coil packs are bonded to the motor thru the bracket...I powder coated my bracket and have no issues.

have you put a timing light on the car?

I take it you are using a PFC...

Coil wires are right. Haven't put a timing light on it.

What all would cause my timing to be screwed up? I have the power fc.

Anyone?

That will be too late. It needs to be running right when he gets here. I'm not going to hand over a problem child to him. I've got 6 days before he gets here. I need to make big power!!

Got your coil packs in the right order on the motor? Chris has his on backwards after his new setup went in....I never saw him do it, but we figured it out on the dyno because his breakup was horrible:

T1 front - White
L middle - Black
T2 rear - Blue

check the 2 electrical plugs by the crank trigger, sometimes people mix them up.

Got it running tonight, those ITO ports sound awesome!

Swapped out a new harness and it fixes it.

Thanks guys.

We'll have to see what kind of power this thing makes this weekend with steve kan tuning it
