DriveShaft Issues

Hi, my ppf cracked and broke into 3 peices, so i just recived my new one, when that happend i pulled out the driveshaft.....now i cannot get the driveshaft back in the tranny, it goes in a inch then does not budge further...i removed the pressed in seal, thinking that was the problem, but it seems like the shaft gets stuck on a sleeve inside the tranny...is it a forced fit?, or is the end of my tranny screwed?, the sleeve and groves in it with a tab...im sorry this is my first FD, and first RWD car im working on....please help lol, i really want to drive, its been 2 weeks since i drove..help a canadian brother out

thank you!!

It is not a force fit, it should slide right on. Check for burrs on the output shaft, rotate the shaft a few splines and try again.

Also is there any place with a write up, or picture of the rear end of the tranny?

Just wiggle it a little as you spin it around. It will slide into place.

Just guessing, but did the driveshaft come out completely? Is there anything stuck inside the output shaft area?

EDIT: I meant the old driveshaft, when the PPF broke.

well, the shaft end is grinded so about 50% of the splines ends are grinded almost to a single spline....can machine shops fix this, or should i just buy a used shaft for $100 US?

If the spline was damaged in any way i wouldn't put it back in the tranny. Any metal fragments, rocks, sand going back into your tranny would be bad. The spline that inserts into the tranny should just slide make sure you are in nutral, I foudn it easyer that way, if it doesn't then there is something blocking it's path. Did you look in the back end of the tranny to see if anything had gotten in there? Also how did you break the PPF in 3 pieces that's a heavy piece of steal?
