Maybe you should take a moment before calling someone a *****. The topic of the thread is weather you think its a good idea to drift an FD. For me, it isn't a good idea.

You owe me an apology!

Apexi has a championship winning FD3S that has won best drift twice in a row "suppousely" to them the only car ever to do that. So I guesse it is then.

Vosko, that's %100 completely inaccurate, FD's are even worse candidates than FC's (beleive it or not). Both cars are setup for superior road holding and grip driving as that's supposed to be the purpose of a real sports car. The 240sx and AE86 (Corolla GTS) don't have the same level of development so they won't grip nearly as hard. Ofcourse you can setup any RX-7 to be a drift car with severe modifications due to it's high power potential, but in or near it's stock form, It's not a good candidate at all unless you possess extraordinary skill.

Unless you plan on spending some serious money (maybe not a problem for you ) to turn your car into an able drifter, I wouldn't plan on doing it in anything more than for fun. I only say this because if you get into some competitive events (Like drift events) where there's concrete barriers and what not, there's a serious chance you could total your FD. Just look at Calvin's car and keep in mind he was pretty experienced...

holy **** what did that FD hit ???

the experience i have is with two guys that drift FC's and know its a bitch to do it right... my FD if i had any skill would have been drifting nice.... without really doing anything to change the setup except tires. 240sx's have decent rear suspensions. i dunno. when i get my FC fixed up and go drift it i'll give you my own personal observations

I think some of you are getting the setting wrong on drifting.

Japanese people likes to setup there cars like somewhat close to road course type cars. From there they tweak to the driver's liking.

That's what i seen and told by Yamada at tje option taping.

When you do get your FC fixed up, make sure to do Wendel's steering/spindle modification. With it, if you have enuf skill you can keep up with the 240 guys. Infact, he says that the only reason he cant turn more is because the tire is catching on the frame, the 1 inch spacer I posted not too long ago should give him/you a bit more reach/turning.

Good luck

DTSS must be the reason for the FC hard to break loose....

It's one of the reasons. You can easily get rid of it though. I think a lot of FC's arnt that good for drift is cuz that they are underpowered. If you can make your fc put out about 250rwhp-300, you should easiliy beable to use power over technique to get the rear out adn keep it out.

Why is this getting out of hand, it's %100 on topic. What the hell is wrong with you??? If you don't like it, don't read it!

Vosko, if I were you, I would DEFINATELY use the FC instead of the FD, just because it'll be so much cheaper when you inevitably crash, and crash again, and again. Just ask Skunks, he's seen it all first hand!
