My Mazda reman' lasted about 20k mi and others lasted less.

The pictures of the CRC clogged radiator, damnit now something else to worry about!

The boiling/bubbling sound - The AST should be making that noise and not the turbos nor the manifold. Normal would be like a light drissling rain and not normal would be a heavy shower...from turbo and manifold.

Here is the problem that we all do: Do you open the hood to listen and look when the car is running perfect? No, we do it when there is a problem. So what can we compare it to when there is something wrong? Try listening and looking at someone elses to hear and see the engine.

--> ok, everyone that is reading this: If your car is running perfect, please describe the bubbling sound "if any" at all. No boiling? Drissle rain? Hard boiled egg boiling over?

BEFORE my O-rings went:

I open my hood every chance I get. I know that's paranoid, but when the charge relief hose SHATTERED in my hand when I removed it, I figured it couldn't hurt Anyways...

My "boiling sound" is more like a slurping sound. The slurp lasts for around 2 seconds, pauses for 5 seconds or so, then repeats. Typically 5 or six slurp cycles (I CANNOT beleive I'm typing this!). The sound is located directly under the crossover pipe, which probably means this is boiling coolant bubbles moving past the thermostat jiggle pin? When I take the time to cool the turbos such that I cannot see the housing in the dark (no slight red glow) (typically running for 3 min with fans on) the slurping noise does not happen upon shutoff. Thus, I figure it's the coolant boiling off the turbo after shutoff while still sitting at 450-500 C (I measured the housing temp) and no coolant flow.

But my O-rings are failing, so I don't trust any sounds I hear now. Just fill it with coolant every time I drive, only pound on it once in a while, and await the rebuilt reman from Pineapple

you are pretty much dead on, the ast will make a few noises too, u should NOT hear any boiling, this is bad if u do its more of a slurpign sound like spurvo said. i always drive slow beforei get home, like the last 3 mins or so, sometimes if i drive aspirated before those 3 mins i will hear a little more slurping around then if i just take it easy for a while. the difrence is minimal, 3 mins is enouf to have the turbo manifold not glow or berely be red in complete darkness after a realyl hard drive. so do your own judgin, water cooled turbos dont have to be cooled down as much the water will carry away all fo the heat, the oil is there only pretty mcuhto beep the bearing lubed up. gurgling upon shut down is normal, no need to sit for 30 mins and idle your car, teh carbon u will build is much worse for teh engine then havign any damage done to the turbos.

do any of you guys have a diagram that shows which ecu harness wire leads to the coolant level sensor? my sensor is fine, but one of the wires somewhere along the way (it has to be one of the ones buried deep under the intake plenum, since all the ones within reach are fine) either has a short or is broken, so i have been driving with the BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPP constantly for the last week or two.

my coolant level is fine, but i want to quick tap and ground it at the ecu side of the harness until i get around to pulling the manifold off to fix the problem at the break. or maybe ill leave it, other cars dont have that buzzer, and the drivers just check their coolant levels routinely.

if anyone can please show which ecu pin it is, i would greatly appreciate it. i would check myself, but the factory service manual i have doesnt include the wiring diagrams. thanks in advance!

Take a look at the small hose that goes to your overflow tank. You have to remove the belly pan to get to it, I had the same problem and one of the unions had popped off.
