downpipe fitting

When me and another rotorhead put on my SS Downpipe this summer we took a long time since all the bolts had different heads. We left one off because it was on tight enough he said. Now since I got the 7 up on a lift there is a leak, the pipe becaue of the weld dosen't stick on the top. One of the bolts head is too big and it sticks out. Any idea how to fix it? We had the idea of buying up some threads with different heads until we found one that is right. What is the thread size on the Pettit SS dp for the top part?

I recall tapping the original exhaust pipe bolts with a 10mm x 1.5 mm pitch tap. This was so I could put two of them on the long part of the stud and install and tighten the studs. I used the shorter studs from Pettit, and put them in the top right, and lower two positions. I then used the nicely supplied cap screw for the top left.

I'm a little confused as to what you guys really did. Which bolt did you leave off when you did the install? And how idi all the bolts have different heads when you pulled the pre-cat? Weren't they all 14 mm? For that matter, what do you mean the thread size on the Pettit DP? These are just holes, and you use the tapped holes in the exhaust outlet from the turbo housings for mounting. So... huh?

I can't make any sense of your post. Maybe you should rewrite it and check it before submitting. I would like to help if I knew what you wanted.

i think you mean you couldn't tighten the nut onto the stud b/c it was hitting the weld on the dp? if i'm correct i had the same problem. i ended up grinding the flange part of the nut down.
