Down and mid pipes

Did anyone who has installed either a down or midpipe dyno their car before and after their installation? If so, what dp/mp did you use, and what were the differences increases in total power, and in how your powerband moved? Were there any complications with the installs? I want to add a DP/MP to my car, but with so many choices, I want to get the best bang for the buck. In advance, thanks for your help, Marc.

There are many choices in downpipes today. However, you want a downpipe which fits, as I have found out recently. I have a Tripoint Engineering downpipe which I will put up for sale in the next 2 weeks. It has no fitting issues whatsoever.

I'm currently designing a "Down-N-Out Pipe" right now. It comes with a will work for food sign, a folder full of RX-7 receipts and a crack pipe.

hey marc, just get the whole exhaust flowing get all 3. It really donstn matter to much if you dont have it all. i think that makes sense, and we did not have lukc pulling that motor today. i may try tomorrow but probly not, its so close now.

Thanks Marc, I am getting really excited about the motor.. The car is all I have been thinking about for the past 2 weeks and my fiance wants to kill it and me. I've been thinking about selling the car after I got it up and running, but half of me wants to keep it... So we will see how it works out... Marc

Watch out for the mid-pipe, though. Make sure you get some sort of boost control. They tend to produce boost spike. If given enough time, your engine will pay a hefty price.

Pettit resonated midpipes and Racing Beat DP and exhaust would be my recommendation to you. I have the DP and exhaust and will have the MP when I get home from this deployment. I have a friend running the same setup and he loves it, plus his dyno numbers and powerband shift were for the better. Just my .02 Best of luck to you.

Hey Zach, do you live in Charleston or are you just stationed there... I eas in June and will be coming back.. it would be nice to meet some one else in SC with a 3rd Gen.. and could you ask your friend about his power increas and shift for me? Marc

and the first time I saw a third gen, I was 15 and coming out of the parking lot for Citadel Mall.. I watched it and a mustang go at it from a light.. whipped the stang.. I didn't know what the car was.. but I knew I wanted one...
