Question Double Throttle Elimination ?

I've searched and read, but in the course of this mod, can you remove the double throttle solenoid and wire the connector wires together to prevent a check engine light or does the ECU need to detect the solenoid switching? I don't see any ohm resistance from the solenoid, so I assume you don't need a resistor. I've already got the butterflies removed, the actuator removed, and the vacuum hoses removed. I'm just waiting on the block off plates from Gotham Racing. Thanks.

Re-measure the resistance. I cannot believe that it is zero ohms. Make sure you are reading the right scale and that your meter is zero-calibrated if it needs to be (i.e. it has a needle rather than a digital scale). If you just connect the wires together, I bet it will short out your ECU.

Once you figure out what the resistance is, or find a thread on here (or ScuderiaCiriani.com) that recommends a certain resistor value, wire a resistor in place of the solenoid. I bet you can use a resistor with a lot more resistance, which will allow you to use one with a lower wattage rating. There is no sensor to check if the solenoid is actually working or not, so as long as you have a resistor in there, you won't get a check engine light.

You can also keep the solenoid connected to the electrical connector with no vacuum hoses attached to it.

Word, that's what I ended up doing. Thanks!
