Double- q and a weird issue.

First the q. I recently received a UIM and TB to replace mine (busted studs and stripped threads). I'm going to clean it up a bit in a solvent tank and am trying to remove the TPS. Not the casing, but the whole thing. Problem is that the two screws are damn tight. Anyonw know if Mazda used thread lock or something similar on these screws? I don't want to screw around and bag it and have to be careful.

Second...the weird issue. I've got the RX7store torque brace and last week it pulled apart on me. Maybe I didn't have it threaded well enough. I had mine preloaded to the driver's side (pushed it away from the pass. fender). Has anyone else had this happen?

I think I can still reuse it, but if not, I guess I'll eat it and get stiffer motor mounts and some other brace or dampener(sp).

That's all....

Might try tapping the screwdriver with a hammer (impact).

first answer.... They may have used thread lock, don't know for sure. BUT.... get some "ignition" channel lock pliers. They are just like normal channel lock pliers only miniature. The whole tool will fit in the palm of your hand. They have great grip and you get a crap load of leverage on the tool. I use them to get small screws of of carb float bowls andsuch.Goodluck. Second answer. I'm not a big believer in these braces as I have seen ALOT rip out. All different types too. No slam to Rx7 stores brace. Soo i guess i can't help much there. Good luck!
