Doing the White Backlight Cluster Mod, need help identifying bulbs (pics included)

OK. I am doing the mod where you remove the orange film from the back of the faces, and replace the bulbs with LED's. I want to make sure I understand where each bulb sits, and which ones i should replace for the backlight.

So in the first pic I have (what i believe is correct) all the bulbs and their usages. From what im understanding, we only need to replace the Yellow and Orange Circles that are on the picture, for the backlight. The rest I dont see a real need to replace. Please correct me if I am wrong, but by my count, i need

Qty 4 - 194 Bulbs
Qty 1 - 74 Bulb

Secondly, in the second picture, I have pulled out the bulbs from the Cruise control button, to see if i can replace them to make them brighter. Does anyone know what size these are, and if they are replaceable with LED with out any wiring? thanks in advance.

If you have all of them labelled, then yes you are correct about the backlight bulbs. I did mine a few months ago, but forget exactly how many bulbs I needed.

alright. does anyone know about the bulbs in the cruise control and headlamp pop buttons?

replace them all with a LED + a resistor, way more reliable.

what rate of resistor? and where would you place the resistor? We are talking bout the cruise control button bulbs right?

I'd replace them all while you're at it. The resistor varies for each type of LED.

some basic info on wiring up LEDs.

does the orange film over the bulbs really make them light up red? and by taking it off allow it to be white? is it that simple really? therefor i can get a blue cover and make it blue etc??

on the bulbs i show in the picture, its just a orange rubber cap. although i am not sure if the buttons have orange film on the back like the gauges..
