from what ive seen 16 year olds that have their parents buy their cars think there the greatest drivers....they have no fear of crashing around a turn because its not their money on the line...if they crash its just like a reset button..daddy will fix everythin....as im goin into a turn i think of how much it would suck to crash my car that i have to pay for...my actions have consequences.....and even if thats not the case think about if ur barreling around a turn and theres some 1 crossing the street....i know around here more people come out to walk their dogs than durring the day....that being said i race all the time....at the track

If you honestly believe this, then you have a great deal more to learn than any of us previously thought...

Just to give you a point of reference: I have raced competitively and semi-professionally for well over 10 years. Plus, I am qualified to instruct at the competitive level for most of the organizations I race for (SCCA, NASA, IMSA). My career has been pretty decent and it includes 2 back-to-back SCCA championships. And even that doesn't mean jack around here. There are numerous people on this forum alone who could out-drive me like I was peddling a go-cart. I would never make the same audacious and rediculously arrogent comments that you have so brazenly set forth. Trust me, you don't know sh~t when it comes to driving.

Please don't... I'm really getting sick of the "I just totaled my FD" threads.

Good luck kid. You're gonna need it if you want to make it to 19...

as a general rule, i agree. however, being that i got my car when i was 18, i must say there are exceptions. a larger factor in the decision should be based on the persons general responsibility, level of judgment, knowledge of the car, and previous driving skills.

i have had my FD for over a year now, with not one wreck (or even bump into anything). i have had a few minor problems with the car, but nothing along the lines of blowing my motor or turbos. the worst i have done to the car is cracked the 5th gear synco, which was already going bad when i got the car.

as far KT's_94FD, i think most people here can see that he lacks all of the desired qualities to safely drive and maintain a FD. some of these things he has said are going straight into my "ricer quotes" compilation...

You never see any Rx's with crazy add mods or power.
clearly you havent researched the FD at all. i have seen rx-7s that run 10, 9 and even 8 second 1/4 miles.

I'm under 20 I've been researching rx-7s for 3 yrs and will continued to do so untill I can actually afford one. Age has little to do with it. However I'd have to agree with everyone else. If your looking for a car to mod the **** out of and not make it the center of your life go buy a civic because you couldn't afford even the supra. I know men that tried to keep up with the supra scene he eventually sold it because he couldn't keep dumping money into it (btw it was pushing upwards of 900hp single turbo and he was tuning it for nitrous as well when he sold it).

As to video games being a driving sim.. your a moron, completely. Maybe since I play counterstrike I should quit school and go join the military I could be a army ranger no problem cuz I got keyboard skillz. Btw your experience behind a VR-4 means absolutely nothing to most people on this forum. That car is a slow heavy piece. I drive a v6 firebird and I dont' even show VR-4s respect unless they owners buts alot of time, money and love into the car.
