I have been flushing and filling and flushing in preparation to do the "o-ring-fix-in-a-can" again.
Since it is now warmer I think I will leave the stuff in for a while this time.
One question though. The water in the cooling system will have a MUCH lower boiling point than anti-freeze/coolant, how much of a problem will that be?

 

use water wetter and you'll be fine. i've READ that a lot of people have done this and been ok. i have the same problem but i'm just waiting for more money to do the rebuild... and fix it for good.

 

I'm in the degreaser stage. I don't plan on refilling any antifreeze. I will use water, purple ice and some evens coolant. Unless I can afford all evens instead or mater later on after another flush.

 

So....just using the water and sealer mix won't work?
Where the hell does one get "Purple Ice" or "water wetter" anyway?

I am right now running the car after having put in the sealer.

I think you may be mixing a cocktail that your engine will not like. Who knows how these chemicals interact with each other? I've used distilled water and water wetter after the CRC O ring fix. I re-did it one time in 15,000 miles (I did not use the degreaser stage the first time) and everything is still just fine. Simple is good.

Oh, by the way, did I tell you I live in Tucson?

The temperature of the air a couple of feet above the pavement is 140F every afternoon from May to September...

The CRC doesn't work with antifreeze. It doesn't mention anything about water wetter addatives. You can get it at Pep boys or the auto store equivilent in your state. Purple ice is harder to get and more expensive.

WARNING: Other forms of propylene glycol (manufactured for other uses) will not work in an Evans NPG System, will cause damage, in some cases are poisonous and highly flammable. USE ONLY EVANS NPG COOLANT WITHOUT WATER IN AN EVANS NPG SYSTEM!

IMPORTANT: Never Add Water to Any Evans NPG or NPG+ Cooled, Cooling System!

This means be very careful or don't use quicky lube places, since they will top off antifreeze whith an oil change.
