Question Doesn't Anyone Know About Keys?!?!

I am in the need for a couple extra keys for my Rx-7 of 1999 years model. I have found a spare key available on http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/efini%20key.htm

I have contacted the store asking them if this key would work for my -99 year model, and they answered they were not sure, becuase they have never tried it on a -99.

Does anyone know it this will work for my car? If not, perhaps someone knows where I can find one that works...?

Some people have had bad luck with them in the past. The main thing to do is to get the key cut at a Mazda dealership using your VIN (not making a copy of your existing key).

I have a '99 key blank on my '94 that I had cut for my car. Works great. I don't think Mazda changed the key design over the run of the FD, so most any key blank should work.

It should work. Best thing is to buy key blanks at the dealership, then they can cut them from the VIN number. I never had an original for my car, until I broke one of the copies. I ordered key blanks from the dealership, and when I picked them up he asked if I wanted him to cut them from the VIN number. I said sure, and they were perfect originals.

Luckily we don't have laser cut keys, like BMW and Mercedes. They have to be ordered from Germany and cut at the factory, proof of ownership required, of course.
