While replacing the battery, I noticed that part of the clamp on the battery cable was broken, preventing the clamp to close entirely around the terminal. I plan to replace it from Malloy but I don't want to replace the entire cable, just the clamp.

Does your positive battery clamp look like this? Is this the stock clamp or an aftermarket one? Is replacing JUST the clamp possible? Don't mind my quick sketch.

Just get some nice gold plated clamps from an Audio Store Mai....It's easy to replace...

I have worked on a lot of FD's and it seems that all of the stock ones are useless. Go aftermarket and that is one less problem to think about.
