does this look right?
i asked my mechanic should this hose be bent as much as it is and he said it was ok. but if a hose is bent then it cant be performing at its maximum. any help would be appreciated. the 1st pic is showing placement and the 2nd one gives a close up. thanks
It would be better if it wasn't. I might still be flowing some air, but that valve is responsible for bypassing prespooled boost from the secondary turbo... if the path is blocked, it could conceivably backflow the turbo.
its actually bent worser than it looks. i just couldnt get a good shot of it. as far as i know it has the stock y pipe on it. so if i cut the hose down that should help right?

Your mechanic is an idiot. Order the proper hose from Malloy Mazda 703-843-0061. Ask for Ray. The oem hoses are molded. It is difficult to get an aftermarket hose to make that tight of a bend without kinking. Also, the HKS Racing intake is supposed to come with hoses if I recall correctly.

the only thing is that malloy mazda may take a lot of things but they doesnt take american express. and i would feel bad calling him for a part number when i cant order it from him because i only use AX. does anyone know the part # or the name of the hose i need?

Just go over the NAPA or Autozone and ask to rummage through their heater/coolant hose mix (you want a hose that can take some heat). They will have a lot of preformed hoses and you can probably find one that will work.
thanks. but i would rather have the one thats made for it without having to do a hard target search.

If it were one of the preformed coolant lines which run to the hard lines on the firewall or the front of the engine, I would agree with you. However, for just a BOV line, IMO, it's not that big of a deal. Heck, I might even have a 90 degree bend left over from the line I bought for my CRV if you can't find anything.
