Does automatic trans. tach work for manual trans?

Does automatic trans. tach work for manual trans?
My tach needs to be replace therefore I need a new one. One of our fellow form members has an tach for autmatic trans. Will this swap work for my manual?

yes but the redline on the gauge will be lower, functionally it will be the same.

Actually, the tach will work, but there will be errors if you do not change the cluster. The hold light will always flash, and something else but i dont remember.

yes it works.. I just got my conversion back in April. (the R lights up in reverse though, hah)
