as in manual transmission? yep all of the r1's and r2's should be..

From what I've read '93 was the last year they put auto's in the RX. So, from that, I would say that it's possible to find a '93 R1 with an auto, but I'm not sure.

Not true at all. Auto was an option for all three years and NO R1 or R2 ever came with an auto.
