Do you guys think it's a fair price?
Just want to know if this sounds reasonable to you guys?
Mazda quoted me a maximum of $400.00 US to change my oil pan and oil pressure switch. This includes all parts and labour.
I know it's a pain in the *** to change the oil pan.
Do you think it's alright price or am I getting RAPED?
Thanks.
BTW: It's a 93FD if it makes a difference

You might ask around your local RX-7 club and see if anyone has the time and resources to help you out. You can pay them a few bucks to help you out. It would be cheaper and you get to learn a little.

kindof off subject, I was down at Pettit recently and they had an engine they were putting back in and didn't look at the oil pan until it was up in the air with the engine in, the oil pan had a huge dent in it. It took them about an hour to do it, but hey they're professionals. They used this "raised strut-bar" looking type deal with 2 hooks for the engine hooks, it held the engine up while they took the pan out and Voila! New oild pan...

The price does not sound bad but if your car is anything like my 93 they will probably try to get you to replace a lot of other products at their dealer rate! I would do it yourself If you have the weekend and the tools. After the radiater is out fo your way and the bolts are off the transmision it basicly pulls out. At least I don't think it is to much trouble, I did however have assistance!
