Ive always had the option to drive the FD as much as i wanted just never had the desire to.
Yeah the 335i is an AWESOME daily driver. Soo much power to play around with, its comfortable and of course, its a bmw so the girlies will wet their panties for it.

About to get my second fd, both of them have/ will be dd.
ITS A ******* pain. But on the other hand , when I've had two cars I e always wanted to be in the fd.. So either way you'll. Complain. It's rough , idk Iive in pr now(ct in the pAst), might get another cause every hero in a Honda will be like "my vtec can run you bro" but w.e... And as far as L fixing it here rx7 parts are cheap.cars are bank though.

Drive it when its sunny only. If the weather was better here, I'd drive it everyday.

^^ Don't take this the wrong way as I'm not a purist (basically it's your car and you can do whatever you want to it) but I gotta ask given your sig:

BLACK 93 RX7 FD new project
BLACK 79 CAMARO Z28 W/383 STROKER project complete!!
BLACK 82 EL CAMINO SS BUILT 350 project complete!!
BLACK 2012 CAMARO. DD

So basically all of your cars are/gonna be V8's? Whats the point??? It's like being a chef and cooking the same thing everyday except the only variation is the sauce.

Anyone who daily drives an FD does not:
- Care about fuel economy
- Play golf
- Play hockey / bicycling / ski / surf / etc..
- Take home two girls at once.

Personally I'd rather daily drive my F-250 diesel than daily the FD. I suppose it would help if I fit in an FD a little better, but even with that I'm not sure.

I'm much happier driving my Lexus RX330 as a DD than my FD, even though my FD is ls powered.

Haha you must be hauling a lot of stuff around, I carry a laptop for work every day and the FD never run out of room, I have my MX-6 as daily but the trunk and backseat are always empty, there's nothing else in my car other than a couple bottles of water.

FD as current DD for past 2-3 months, since my Honda busted a timing belt...

The hardest thing to carry so far

1. full set of rims/tires,
2. Big enough wallet for fuel...

Other then that, I don't mind it... Its kinda 'nice' getting those looks everyone in a while... People staring while going down the hi-way... So I start to play with the pop ups... Lol

I DD the 7 when the snow goes away and its not raining. Works out to about 4-5 months a year which isn't bad for Alberta...

Ouch, interference or non-interference?

I've been dailying my RX-7 for about 6 months now

alot of the problems its had have been because of Mods i've done , to make it go faster .. LOL

and other electrical issues. But mostly the car itself has been good.

And Like was stated before... MAKE SURE YOU HAVE Access to a SPARE CAR to Go to work / parts store.

I have DD'd my 7 for the last 3 months. NO problems unless u are worried about the gas mileage. otherwise its been perfect. Just recently put it in hibernation to stretch my M5's legs a little.

LOL, didnt see it that way, but good call. The point is, that my 79 weighs damn near 4000lbs, my el camino is damn near 4000 lbs, and my 2012 DD camaro for some god awful reason weighs about 4300lbs and the rx7 when im done will weigh around 2500-2600 lbs with the same power as my heavy *** chevys. Dont get me wrong i like the rotary i think its an awesome engine with tons of potential, but as you can tell i like v8s. Lets not have the rotary LS argument and call it to each his own

I wouldn't DD mine when it's finished here in Richmond. Roads suck, and drivers suck more! I would be afraid all the money would end up sticking out of the front bumper of a sable driven by a q-tip. I will just drive my miata!!

I started this thread a few years ago wondering if it would be a good idea to DD an FD before I even owned one. Well, here I am almost three years later DDing my FD. :P No I don't recommend it. I hate worrying about getting it running by Monday if I tear into Friday. I hate climbing in and out of it for short trips. It's impractical and doesn't have enough room. It has terrible gas mileage and the seats are uncomfortable. I don't park it anywhere near anyone for fear of getting door dinged. All this, but man....I LOVE my rx7. It's been dead reliable to me. It's never left me stranded and starts right up every morning. It's all in how you take care of it.

Matt
