Do Rx7's have back seats??
Hey, Ive just started to get interested in the rx7, and was wondering if they have back seats? Or is it like a corvette? There are really no answers on this.
Anyways, it's cool how the owners help each other out, it's not like that with other cars.

Some of the Japanese RX7's came with backseats, but they really served no purpose at all. Unless you were a midget or had no legs like FLA94FD said, there really wasnt any room at all. Look how small the "backseat" is in the US models, if you even wanna call it that. Now imagine trying to stuff someone back there.
Somepeople have put back seats in their FD to get that JDM look, but IMO, they're not worth the extra money and work to put them in.

I have them in the back of my FD. They are in fact NOT worthless like many of the people who have never saw them say. Much like in a camaro or 3000GT, you have to scoot the front seats up to allow the rear passengers to have leg room. People CAN sit back there though, and the car looks SOOOO much more natural with them back there. Once they are in its very obvious the car was designed and made to have them back there.

Hooray For Boobies!!!
My 6'0" *** did not really fit in the 2nd gens rear seats, I know I would not fit in the FD rear seats. Plus my seat is damn near all the way back. If I scoot it up I will not be able to drive.
I had to duck my head and sit sideways in the 2nd gen, it worked for the short trip across town but it will not work daily.
However I would stuff my child back there if I had one. Or maybe a little asian chick.

Lots of the fd's here in Australia have 2 seats, but they are all imported from Japan.
I can tell you that the only purpose they serve is that they result in cheaper insurance.

I bought them from someone who shipped the entire set from Japan. I installed them in my car and I like them. Great for taking a kids somewhere close by. I had a couple girls the back a few times for short distances. I am 5'2" and fit back there but I don't recommend anyone much taller than 5'5".
I do miss my bins a bit for storage but the seats are much more practical in my case since I usually don't go very far when I do have people with me.

I intend to actually do that once I get an RX-7 and the girl I met in Japan comes to my college next semester
(well, at least when her friend comes to visit her during the summer...)

There were different model spirit R's. Some came with red leather stock seats and red leather back seats like the one shown, and others came with the red recaros we all obsess over, along with regular bins in the back.
