Do our heaters suck?
Do our heaters suck?
I pulled my condensor and dryer out.. well the lines were broke on it so my ac didnt work.. I went to go use my heater last night cause my girlfriend was cold and yeah.. my heater doesnt hardly get warm.. do our heaters really suck or do we need our ac condensors, ect in for it to work right? I took the lines that run up to the passanger side firewall area cause they hooked to the condensor. the compressor is still in.. Any help? Im going to be in tennessee this winter so I need a heater lol.. let me know please.
Yeah, that's what they mean. They are thinking that the thermostat is stuck open, keeping fluid running through the radiator all the time, making the cooling system run excessively cool, which in turn would reduce the amount of hot coolant available to roast your toes. BTW, mine honestly gets too hot!
I'm thinking that if your coolant temps are normal, your heater core may be clogged, or your mix actuator is not moving far enough to get enough heat in. To answer your original question, the A/C should not have anything to do with the heating system

Honestly, I was rather impressed with the heating of the car, and I've had no problems with my heater either.
i use the engine heat for a heater Ha. ne way, when you say your heater doesnt get hot, im sure your talking about in the cabin as you have not touched the heater core with the engine on. the heater core is attached to the engine and coolant flows through it. so if your engine is warm, your heater core is warm. you see on the a/c switch the blue and red markings? that is actually a control for a little door. it opens wider the more red you turn the ****. this is what spurvo is taking about. if it was stuck open, your a/c would feel like it was not working. if it was stuck shut, it would seem as though your heater core was bad.
Well, I don't have the exact same question, but it seems that when it's set to blow on the dash vents, it cools down. Any other position and it's fine. My brother's does the same thing. Anyone hear of that?
