Do mazda will make a new 2 doors RX-7?
I want to know, if mazda have started new plans for a new RX-7 ? Are they gonna bring back a new RX-7 with a shape similar to the 3rd generation?

That would't be a 7 though. They wil continue making RX models like 9, 10, etc.
I also think since their are so many enthusiast that in about 3-4 years they'll make a comeback with a ridiculus sticker price 4th gen 7.

I`m in Japan right now and last week I was checking out a magazine that had a sketch of the next gen. rx7 (and yes it did say rx7 not rx8 or 9). I don`t remember which magazine it was though...I think it was best car or something like that. Anyways it said that it would be based on the same platform as the rx8 is (which i have heard is actually stiffer than the rx7 chassis) and will be slated between the rx8 and the miata in the lineup. The engine is supposed to be the same renesis motor as the rx8 with the same trans too. The styling was something between the rx8 and the FD but more like the rx8(but it without a lot of the weird quirks). It is supposed to be a 2005 model. I hope this helps answer some questions.

have all of you missed out on the fact that there is an rx-8 coming out, and rx-7 production is going to stop this year i am pretty sure. no more rx-7.

This has been asked a few times already I think... But anyway the way I look at it... Right now Mazda is pretty much at the mercy of Ford. Yes, the blue oval has alot of say in what mazda can and cannot do... I'm still a little shocked that they let Mazda go ahead with the RX-8.. But no matter...
The FD took Mazda somewhere between 4 and 5 years to develop if I remember right.. Someone help me here... And it was designed to be a real sports car... And well it turned out to be one hell of a car... But time is money... Do you think Ford will give the green light to develop a new RX-7 over the next 4 years??? Doubt it... The poor sales of the FD wont help to change their minds either... Ford needs to make money, and I dont think a new RX-7 will bring as much as for example the new Mazdaspeed Protege or the RX-8...
They might let them build up upon the RX-8 platform, but I believe it would be very watered down... nagaremonoX said that they its rumored to be using the SAME engine and trans from the RX-8... I can understand that, but I rather Mazda not do something like that... If they build a new RX-7, build one that is worthy of the name... If they do come out with the car nagaremonoX is talking about, give it the RX-9 name or something and let the RX-7 die with the FD... I believe its a worthy car to be known as the last RX-7....

with the lancer, sti, 2004 supra, redesigned nsx, and skyline/infinity comming out. mazda would be stupid not to bring a 4th gen rx7 to the market. depending on how sales do with the rx8. if sales are good they will for sure bring the rx7.
