Do i need to repalce any gaskets when changing spark plugs?

When i take off the UIM to change spark plugs ..

do i need to replace any gaskets?

You don't take off the UIM. In fact I take nothing off the car - I just reach down around the TB elbow and work blind. It's not that hard, and if you go in from underneath it's even easier.

Even if you pull the TB elbow and go in from above it has an o-ring that does not require replacement.

I think he meant to say Spark plugs and wires?? if you mean wires than i guess it depends on the condition of your UIM gasket. Last time i checked it was a metal gasket and doesnt really need to be replaced like that. unless yours is leaking.

Or if the UIM gasket is missing, which is the surprise I had the first time I took the UIM off. If you're just talking about the plugs, just pull the elbow and go to town.

If you're also changing wires the job gets a lot bigger.

IIRC there is so little room around the coils that I removed the TB and could barely do it. The plug wires are definitely easier when the UIM is off, then you can plug the wires into the coils without as much stuff in the way.
