Do i need a rebuild??

Hey guys....as some of you guys already know I just bought my fd last week and i absoulely love it. I had the car do a compression test and inspected from tri point andd they said everything is pretty good. However, i know sometimes compression doesn't really mean **** and i was wondering if i need a rebuild anytime soon and i gotta start saving money. The reason i ask is cuz I'd rather rebuild it before something goes bad so i don't risk more things being broken. The car has 87k on the odo and when the car is warmed up it has the following vacumm readings. At 1100rpm the car reads 20 hg and at 850 it's between 16 and 17hg...kinda hard to tell. The car has a fluidyne rad, silcon hose job, aftermarket ast, boost guage, dp, main cat and a cb. What do u guys think...the car boosts 10-8-10 and it drives real nice with no stuttering at idle. But then again, i'd rather ask your guys' opinion since i haven't had an fd for that long. thanks for all your help guys, i coudn't have done it without you.

Nope, It sounds like the car is running great. The only other thing that I would keep and eye on is the cooling system. Is your car using excessive amounts of coolant? Any white smoke on start up? Does your car leave a puddle of coolant by the passenger front tire?

The other common thing that requires a rotary rebuild is failed coolant/water seals.

If not, drive and be happy. And save for some mods.

yeah....i just checked an they're isn't any signs of coolant leakage..but then again it's also hard to tell cuz i haven't installed a water temp guage yet....when i start there isn't any white smoke.....how do i make sure my water seals are ok?? actually, i should get the water hoses replaced. Are those the ones that go to the radiator?? i really wanta be on top of these things cuz i really can't afford a rebuild right nnow

It sounds like it's running really strong. You are getting the same vacuum readings that I'm getting on my fresh rebuild from KDR.

Yeah, I'd say replace the radiator hoses, just to be safe. Coolant leaks from big hoses like that happen really fast. It's not worth not doing.

I would go ahead and get the 30/60/90k service done. Make sure they throw in a new fuel filter, plugs, wires, & all synth oils
After that you should be good to go

that's great you got a rebuild...im getting the same readingd?? that's awesome.....actually before i bought the car he did a 30k miles service my tri point and according to the invoice they had replaced air filter, fuel filter, plugs, antifreeze, oil filter, and lug nut. However it was recommended that i replace the water hoses and filter block O rings....how much would that service be??you also mentioned synthetic oils....i was told not to put any synth oils in my acr so they actually just out in castrol...what oil is the best for an fd? i only want to out in the best that's out there..thanks guys
