Do I need an intercooler if....

I live in the bay area where it's RARELY hot/warm. I put on average 200 miles/week highway/city. When I drive my car I usually pull it WOT less than twice each trip. With the pfc fan mod my water temp never go above 92C and my air temp is always around <50C. I run 12psi. Injection duty 83% max. I do not need to go any faster for now since do so would require me to upgrade the fuel pump, injectors... I've also heard that adding an intercooler would actually slow you down due to longer spooling time. So do I NEED an intercooler right now??? Thanks.

At 12lbs, I would look into an intercooler.

My air temps in 95 degree F days never gets above 40 degrees Celsius. I would go ahead and get an intercooler.

a good stock mount or even good front mount intercooler will flow better than the stock unit. They are normally bar/plate design and are thicker, which means more flow, kind of like bigger exhaust piping. with 12psi, i'm sure you will see much higher intake temps if you are really pushing it through the gears on a canyon run too. Thus, your car will get faster with an aftermarket intercooler. It's actually something people tune for as the air is more dense.

an intercooler could be considered a reliability mod as well since the cooler the intake air, the better/safer for the motor.

you still can only boost at what is maximum efficiency from the turbos and what fuel you can provide to be safe.

I've heard of people boosting 15psi etc...but i'm not sure if the injectors are over the 90% duty cycle mark by then.

For safety, i'm thinking 13psi max.
