do i have a short?????

let me start and say my battery has been dead so i charged it and put it back in the car. now here is the funny thing. when i open my door either door the dashlights blink and you can hear a sound click like a turn signal and the parking lights blink but when u shut the door it takes about 20 seconds and it stops. i dont know what this is. if it was the factory alarm then the horn should blow and i tried to unlock the door with the key but it still does this. anyone have any idea what this is?

was it a brand new battery or did you just charge an old one? you might have the correct voltage but the amps could have depreciated due to age....you might just have to buy a new battery

sounds like something is going on with the factory anti theft system. i'd get the battery tested and go from there. its always good to have a clean start.

if it were a short, you'd be blowing a fuse.
