I was just wondering if the cooling ducts that run along the top of the wheel liner are functional if you dont have the R1 lip? I just dont see how air can get in there otherwise.

Thanks

The ducts that run on top of the wheel liners are for the oil coolers, not the brakes. The touring has 1 oil cooler on the driver side so that duct is functional.

The ducts that run in the fender liners are for the oil coolers. On non-R1 cars, the drivers side is quite functional. The passenger side can easily be made functional if you install another oil cooler. Also see RonKMiller's "Hot-air-out" ghetto mod. Definately another effective use of these ducts.
