distilled coolant

hello folks

now over the past few months i have learnt loads of info about the fd3s and that wonderful rotary but 1 question i have is what material is the actual engine block made of? is it aluminium or cast iron? if it is aluminium than do you need to somehow purify the water so it doesnt react and oxidise with the aluminium or does the anti-freeze do this job.

I *think* it's aluminium, could be wrong, and I think most owners recommend using distilled water in your coolant. Red Line Water wetter is also a good precaution.

The engine is built up using both cast iron and alloys. You should use distilled water in the coolant system of ANY car.

The rotor housings are iron and the rest is aluminum, so actually it's made of both

Distilled water is best for any engine, no matter what it is made from. Distilled water will not leave as many deposits inside the coolant passages and that is why it is always preferred.
