Disabling EGR?!?!?!/Hose Job

Friend broke one of the nipples on the solenoid that goes to the EGR. I disabled the EGR using the howto site. If i take off the wiring harness connection to solenoid will it throw a code?
TIA, Ryker

If your EGR has an electrical connection, then I'm pretty sure you will get a "check engine" light.

plug the hoses and leave the electric plugs hooked up and the computer will not know . I would make a block off plate to go under the EGR also .
