Disabled Double Throttle Issue
Just got my UIM put back on about a week ago after a little bit of work. While I was doing this I decided I was going to disable my double throttle by simply unpluggin it from the double throttle actuator and capping it along with the corresponding nipple on the front underside of the UIM. My problem is that when I'm getting on the gas hard, but not WOT, the blow-off valve/air bypass valve (not sure which one it is) is giving my a crazy on-off-on-off-on action while my car stutters along with it.
My theory was that since I only capped the actuator and didn't actually pull out the butterfly's, that the butterfly's were getting forced shut then re-oppened repeatedly. The only issue with that is it doesn't do it when I'm at WOT.
or... this could simply be normal and i'm just being to critical about things since I haven't driven the car on main roads in more than a year.

If you cap both vacuum lines, you have disabled the double throttle. It should stay in the fully open position. If you have a problem, it may be from somewhere else.
Disabling the double throttle will make your car boost more easily when cold. You will need to be careful to avoid boost until the car is warm.

Mine worked in reverse and closed when the engine was warm. I removed it and the AWS but haven't drove the car yet. The block off plates from k2rd come with hex screws to replace the studs. You just need one 4mm rubber cap in the rats nest if you're removing and not capping the air pipe.

Dude, I would have removed mine completely if it wasn't for the fact that I may eventually sell my car or even decide to put my double throttle back on.
And plus... i didn't want to have to put some kind of jb weld **** in the hole that the occupies the butterfly rod IMO.
