Ramy, I think you should jump over to Chucks thread. I think I pretty much answered your question as to why a VMIC isn't really any better. It's probably back a page or 2, you'll just have to sort through the last few pages of the thread. I also posted up a test done on Kevins SMIC. Testing was recorded during crusing and acceleration and yield a couple degrees higher than ambient during cruising. (Can't get any better than ambient with an air-air intercooler) Chuck thinks he's going to see 50-100 degrees less with the VMIC than the SMIC. IMO, I doubt that's going to happen.

With all due respect I don't buy that for a minute. Once the car is heat soaked even a front mount will at cruising speed runs 10-15C above ambient. Run it hard and it will double that. Aluminum just doesn’t dissipate that fast. I really just wish you guys would post honest results. That not say that these products aren't good, but over stating your case doesn't help anyone. Additionally unless your car is tuned right at the limit it’s not going to make that much of a difference.

Actually, my post was worded wrong a tad bit. The last part should have said Chuck is expecting to see 10-20C lower temps than the SMIC in race conditions. Obviously Chuck can't see any lower temps during cruising because an air-air intercooler can't acheive lower than ambient temps, which the SMIC is already getting at cruising.

I think you need to jump over to the other thread, and read what I posted as to why I think a VMIC isn't any better than a SMIC in some aspects.

Alex,

I'm reserving judgement until the tests are completed, but I'm anticipating Chuck (using Rynberg as a third party) will verify the #s on the SMIC, then on the VMount, and the Vmout will have lower temps. But that's just my guess

I want to apologize to HedgeHog for the attitudes of some of my statements. Even though I was trying to help, I said it in a very unpleasant tone like a dad yelling at his kid when the kid did something wrong It was not the best way to make a suggestion and sometimes I don't think too much before I type. I am really sorry about it.

I applaud his effort to make a different kind of vmount. I got my emotion carried away. I only wish him the best for the setup and hopefully my previous emotional behavior will not affect his decision of sharing his expereince with the forum members.

.... I don't know if it's just me, but EITHER setup looks better then stock, so I don't get what all this arguing is about.

Put both set-ups on the dyno w/ the same power set-up. It's that simple....Two of the same power modded 7's w/ each intercooler set-up....

Haha, I've had my CWR SMIC and CAI sitting here since September/October, and haven't had the chance to put it in yet
